On 1 July 2025, the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), in collaboration with Walailak University, hosted the 15th IMT-GT Working Group on Human Resource Development (WGHRD) Meeting under the Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) from 1–3 July 2025 in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The welcome address was presented by Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, the President of Walailak University. Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and current Chair of the WGHRD, officially opened the meeting on behalf of Director-General of TICA. Mr. Wittaya Khiewrod, Vice Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat, attended the event as a guest of honor representing Governor Mr. Somchai Leelanoi, to welcome delegates from member countries and joined the group photo session held at Hua Taphan Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Walailak University Medical Center.

Furthermore, TICA, in its role as Chair of the WGHRD and Thailand’s WGHRD focal point, collaborated with the Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) to host a brainstorming session focused on "Current Labour Market Trends and Mapping Key Training Programs in the IMT-GT Subregion." The aim was to create vibrant connections between WGHRD representatives from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand and the IMT-GT University Network (UNINET).  Participants included representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, and the private sector, such as Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) from Malaysia, Prince of Songkla University, Walailak University, Malaysian private sector, and national focal point of WGHRD from the three countries.
