On 14 August 2026, Ms. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), chaired a preparatory meeting on the development of the Country Report and Action Plan with a 21-member Thai delegation from security-related agencies. The delegation was approved to participate in the KOICA-TICA Capacity Building on Cybercrime Prevention in Thailand (2026) training course, which will be held in the Republic of Korea from 23 August to 4 September 2026. The meeting took place at TICA.

The purpose of the meeting was to prepare the Thai delegation prior to their participation in the training course, providing an opportunity for representatives from relevant agencies to exchange information and experiences and share their views in formulating a Country Report and Action Plan that comprehensively reflects Thailand’s current situation and approaches to addressing cybercrime.

The meeting placed particular emphasis on developing the Action Plan as an integrated inter-agency plan, with the aim of ensuring its practical application and further developing it into a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the systematic and effective prevention and response to cybercrime in Thailand, while establishing clear mechanisms for coordination and collaboration among relevant agencies.

The resulting Country Report and Action Plan will also serve as an important foundation for exchanging and sharing Thailand’s knowledge, experiences, and best practices with other countries in the region, while also promoting international cooperation in addressing cybercrime, which is currently a complex and rapidly evolving threat.

Participation in the aforementioned training course therefore represents another important step for Thailand in strengthening the capacity of its personnel and enhancing international cooperation in the prevention and suppression of cybercrime. It also provides an opportunity to apply and further develop the knowledge gained through the cooperation between KOICA and TICA into concrete practices in Thailand.
