On 14 August 2026, Ms. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), chaired a meeting with Ms. Jiheh Chun, Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand to discuss the direction of cooperation under the new Korean Government ODA Strategy and Policy Priorities, as well as approaches to aligning Thailand–Korea development cooperation with the evolving development context. The meeting was held at TICA.

Both sides also discussed key areas that will serve as mechanisms for advancing Thailand–Korea cooperation in the next phase, including the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) of the Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance, implemented through the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand. They also discussed the implementation of the 5th Action Plan between KOICA and the Department of International Cooperation for 2026–2028 (B.E. 2569–2571), as well as the proposed establishment of an Annual Consultation mechanism to strengthen coordination and ensure continuous monitoring of progress in bilateral cooperation.

In addition, both sides discussed co-hosting the Asia–DAC Regional Dialogue with the OECD, scheduled to take place on 15–16 October 2026 in Bangkok. The event will provide an important platform for exchanging views and experiences on development cooperation, as well as promoting dialogue on development approaches and development cooperation in the Asian region.
