On 28 August 2026, Ms. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), delivered closing remarks for the Training Course on Highway Construction Project Management Course for Engineer of Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), together with Mr. Pongpan Junngern, Deputy Director-General for Engineering, Department of Highways.

The Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Highways, Ministry of Transport, organized this training course under the Thailand-Lao PDR 3-Year Technical Cooperation Framework for Human Resource Development (2026–2028). Scheduled from 17 – 28 August 2026, the program welcomes 15 personnel from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Lao PDR. The training program aims to enhance the professional capacity of officials from Lao PDR in planning and development, public-private partnerships (PPPs), highway engineering, construction contract administration, and project management, complemented by safety audits and intelligent transport systems (ITS), fostering effectiveness and the sustainable development of infrastructure in Lao PDR.
