On 6 September 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) together with Mr. Hahm Jeong-han, Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i., the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, Ms. Youngsuk Jun, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and Ms. Gita Sabharwal, UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand, attended the Tree Planting Ceremony under the project “Green Planet in Thailand” co-organized by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and KOICA at Chatuchak park, Bangkok.  Besides, the representatives from UNESCAP and the Embassies in Bangkok, namely, the Embassy of Guatemala, the Embassy of Australia, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, the Embassy of Switzerland, the Embassy of the Netherlands, and the Embassy of Bangladesh as well as Mrs.Arunee Hiam,  Deputy Director-General of TICA and TICA staff also attended the event. 

Green Planet in Thailand project aims at raising environmental awareness and the air pollution in Thailand. The project is part of an effort to address the climate change effectively and increase the green spaces that are easilly accessible to everyone. Besides, this project was launched in celebration of the 65th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand and the Republic of Korea.

On this occasion, Director-General of TICA delivered her congratulatory speech that reaffirmed TICA’s readiness to render its full support to advance cooperation and partnership between Thai and South Korean agencies further.
