On 6 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Ph.D., Vice President for Global Partnerships and Member of the University Council of Mahidol University, together with officials from Mahidol University, paid a courtesy call on the occasion of the New Year.

Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of the Development Promotion and Coordination Division, as well as TICA officials, were also present.

On this occasion, both sides discussed the implementation of activities in 2026 under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the “MFA–MU Enhancing Thailand Capacity Building Hub” project between TICA and Mahidol University. The programme will focus on knowledge transfer and the exchange of experts between Mahidol University and international institutions in the fields of Health Sciences, Science and Technology, and Humanities and Social Sciences, with the aim of strengthening medical resource capacity in Thailand and developing countries in the region, particularly in the South Pacific, including Samoa and Tonga. This collaboration serves as an important mechanism in advancing Thailand’s medical diplomacy.
