Handed over medical supplies and medicines worth 5,000,000 Baht under Thailand-Myanmar Public Health Development Cooperation Plan

On December 25, 2024, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, represented by H.E. Mr. Phaisarn Ruapanitchakit, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, handed over medical supplies and medicines worth 5,000,000 Baht to Mae Hong Son Provincial Public Health Department which is part of the initiatives under Thailand-Myanmar Public Health Development Cooperation Plan. This project’s objective is to prepare and respond to communicable diseases, emerging diseases, and re-emerging diseases along the Thailand-Myanmar border in Mae Hong Son Province.

During the ceremony for the handover of medical supplies and medicines, senior executives from relevant sectors attended as witnesses, including H.E. Mr. Dusit Manapan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Mr. Chuchip Pongchai, Governor of Mae Hong Son Province, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organization, Mrs. Pimwadee Sovaratanapong, Deputy Director-General and Acting Director-General of TICA, Mr. Vorapan Srivoranart, Deputy Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs, Mr. Atthasit Saengjan, Deputy Provincial Public Health Doctor of Mae Hong Son Province, Ministry of Public Health, Ms. Prapassorn Thiprat, Senior Pharmacist, Department of Medical Sciences, and Mr. Chat Chaisoh, Public Health Officer, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, at the Mae Hong Son Provincial Hall.

The implementation of this project serves as a pilot initiative for driving development diplomacy to address borderless public health challenges which requires cooperation from all parties to strengthen accessible healthcare systems and improve the quality of life for the people of the two countries.
