Partnership with New Zealand
During 2010 to 2012, there was a commitment to work on a Thai-New Zealand Trilateral Cooperation to GMS countries on agricultures by offering the future training courses to the GMS countries. For example, in value chain analysis in developed countries, the Mekong Institute proposes to conduct the regional training course on Agriculture Sector Value Chain Analysis and Promotion for government officials of CLMV countries. This training course is to share “best practices” of New Zealand and Thailand on their efficiency and effectiveness in managing value chains and value added products of some commodities. There is a wide range of products that Thailand and New Zealand produce for processing, refining, and or adding value before moving to other stage of the chains and reaching consumers and the CLMV countries can learn from their success.
