On 14 January 2025, Mrs. Pimwadee Sovaratanapong. Deputy Director-General. Acting Director-General of TICA co-chaired the Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting of The Project on Thailand - Kenya Sustainable Agro-technologies Development with Ms. Rosemary Nyamu, Director of Kenya School of Agriculture (KSA) at Kenya School of Agriculture, Nyeri city, Kenya. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to the TICA, Asso. Prof. Darunee Jothityangkoon, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, Mrs. Chachsaran Lertkiattiwong , Director of International Development Cooperation Division of TICA and concerned officials from both sides.

The objective of the meeting is to acknowledge the outcomes of all activities under the project, which included the establishment of the Thailand-Kenya Agro-technologies Learning Center, the creation of Thai demonstration farm, training sessions, and the dispatch of Thai volunteers to work at the Kenya School of Agriculture (KSA). All activities were reported to have been successfully implemented. Additionally, Associate Professor Dr. Darunee Chotyangkoon presented an analysis of the project outcomes. Key challenges identified were: (1) Planning for the future of the project. (2) Integrating the project with the communities. (3) Embedding the project into the academic curriculum of KSA. And (4) Increasing participation from KSA staff in project activities. KSA’s staff also provided updates on their work plans and achievements. They informed the meeting that efforts to sustain the project have included training local farmers, developing demonstration farm and learning center.

TICA expressed its readiness to support the project further by offering scholarships for master’s degree in agriculture for KSA staff. Additionally, TICA committed to sending anothergroup of FFT Thai volunteers to KSA to ensure the project's full success and to developpersonnel who can sustain the project's operations in the future.

In the afternoon, the delegations visited the Thailand-Kenya Agro-technologies Learning Center and the Thailand Organic Farm to consider the outcomes of the collaboration between KSA’s staff, students, and Thai volunteers. It was noted that the learning centerand demonstration farm have been well-developed and are being maintained effectively, even after Thai volunteers finised work period.
