On 10 January 2025, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), participated in the handover ceremony of student uniforms under the Small-Scale Grant Aid Programme from the Government of the Republic of Korea under the Project for Bridging Education Gaps for Women, Children, and the Disabled. Held at Chiang Khong Teachers Camp, Chiang Rai, the ceremony was attended by Ms. Jun Youngsuk, Country Director, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Thailand Office, Ms. Nunnaree Luangmoi, Co-founder and Director of the Center for Girls Foundation, as well as school directors, teachers, and students from schools in Chiang Rai.
Under this Small-Scale Grant Aid Programme, KOICA provided grant assistance, including three 11-seater vehicles (one for each organization) and more than 300 sets of student uniforms, with a total value of 130,000 USD (approximately 4.2 million Baht), to 3 Thai non-governmental organisation (NGOs), whose missions are to support children, women, and persons with disabilities, including (1) Center for Girls Foundation, (2) The Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand, and (3) Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD). The student uniforms were handed over to the Center for Girls Foundation which is going to distribute among 32 primary schools in Chiang Rai Province.
On this occasion, the Deputy Director-General of TICA congratulated on KOICA’s Small-Scale Grant Aid. She emphasized that this generous grant will strengthen the capacity of the three recipient organisations as key mechanisms for the development of those underprivileged, children, women for sustainable development in the future.
