During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on ways to enhance development cooperation between Thailand and the Sudan, focusing on the areas of Thailand’s potential and Sudan’s post-conflict reconstruction needs.  These may include electricity and energy, sanitation, water and wastewater management, public health, and food security, as well as other mutually agreed sectors.

On this occasion, Director-General of TICA emphasized the importance of the African region, as Thailand has launched the Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI), and advances development cooperation through the framework of the Thailand–Africa Development Forum (TADF).  The Ambassador submitted a draft Memorandum of Understanding on development cooperation between Thailand and Sudan for the Thai side's consideration, with the aim of signing it during the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs' scheduled visit to Thailand in August.
