Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), led the Thai delegation to attend the First High-level Conference of Forum on Global Action for Shared Development

On 10 July 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), led the Thai delegation to attend the First High-level Conference of Forum on Global Action for Shared Development hosted by China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) at Beijing Friendship Hotel, Beijing, the People's Republic of China.
 
Being held under the theme “Global Development Initiative: Echo the Development Agenda and Call for Global Action”, Ministerial and High-level representatives from 158 countries and International and regional organisations attended the Meeting to discuss global shared development issues that would help support the achievement of United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development or Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Meeting is part of the efforts to implement the Global Development Initiative (GDI) proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2021. The Meeting consisted of 4 Sub-Forums; namely (1) Poverty Reduction and Food Security, (2) Climate Change and Green Development, (3) Financing for Development, and (4) Digital-Era Connectivity. As the outcome, the Meeting adopted the Beijing Statement for the First High-level Meeting of Forum on Global Action for Shared Development.
 
During the Meeting, Director-General of TICA had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Deng Boqing, Vice Chairman of CIDCA (Link) to discuss future development cooperation between TICA and CIDCA. Moreover, Director-General of TICA took this opportunity to meet and discuss with other development partners and counterparts including Myanmar(Link), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) to advance Thailand’s development cooperation with partners.
