On 10 July 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) met with Mr. Deng Boqing, Vice Chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) at meeting room 3, Beijing Friendship Hotel, PRC during the First High-level Meeting of Forum on Global Action for Shared Development.

Both sides appreciated the close and cordial ties between Thailand and PRC and the strengthened cooperation in all areas. Vice Chairman of CIDCA briefed on the latest status of implementation of Global Development Initiative (GDI) proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2021 and expressed thanks to Thailand for being founding member of Group of Friends of GDI. He expressed CIDCA’s readiness to promote development cooperation with Thailand in various fields, e.g. public health and Human Resource Development (HRD).

Director-General of TICA welcomed the establishment of CIDCA in 2018. She viewed that Cooperation between TICA and CIDCA will promote and accelerate overall development cooperation between Thailand and PRC. As founding member of Group of Friends of GDI, Director-General of TICA reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to support GDI in line with Thailand’s policy. She looked forward to signing of the MoU of Human Resource Development between CIDCA of PRC and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, which will be the effective mechanism to promote Human Resource Development both at bilateral and trilateral levels.
