On 2 April 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand, on a courtesy visit following her recent appointment. The visit provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on advancing development cooperation. Also in attendance at the meeting, held at TICA, were Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of the Development Promotion and Coordination Division, together with relevant officials from the United Nations and TICA.

The Director-General expressed his appreciation to the UN Resident Coordinator for her participation in the 9th TICA Connect held in December 2024 and cordially invited her to attend the upcoming 10th TICA Connect in August 2025. This special event will mark the 10th Anniversary of TICA’s  establishment. Both sides also acknowledged the success of previous South-South and triangular cooperation flagship projects jointly implemented by TICA and three UN agencies, including UNFPA, WHO, and ITC. It is anticipated that the next phase of flagship projects between TICA and other UN agencies will be launched during the 81st session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), scheduled to take place from 21 to 25 April 2025 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. In addition, the meeting discussed healthcare services for refugee camps along the Thai-Myanmar border, as well as humanitarian assistance for those affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar.
