On 14 November 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura Na Ayudhya, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed H.E. Mrs. Shirley Dennise Aguilar Barrera, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to Thailand, on the occasion of her courtesy call and introductory visit. The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, along with officials from both sides, at the TICA reception room.

Both sides expressed their intention to promote development cooperation in various areas, including agriculture, education, and human resource development. They also agreed to jointly explore the possibility of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Thailand International Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala in the future.

On this occasion, both sides expressed their appreciation for the diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Republic of Guatemala, which will mark their 70th anniversary in 2027. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening development cooperation between the two countries.
