Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) attended the 2nd TICA-USAID Strategic Partnership for Development Cooperation in Asia

On 6 September, 2024, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) participated in “The 2nd Annual Executive Meeting between TICA and USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia (USAID/RDMA) on Strategic Partnership for Development Cooperation in Asia” at JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok. The meeting was hosted by USAID/RDMA. Mr. Michael Ronning, Mission Director of USAID/RDMA, chaired the Meeting as head of the USAID/RDMA delegation. Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Director-General of TICA, attended the Meeting as a head of the Thai delegation. Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and other relevant officials form TICA and USAID/RDMA were also present.

Both sides acknowledged updates since the previous’s meeting and reviewed progress on project implementation under the Strategic Partnership in the areas of public health, environment, digital economy, human resources development, and social. Additionally, both sides discussed \ways and means to improve implementation and synergy for projects under the Strategic Partnership to foster a smoother cooperation. The meeting also facilitated an exchange of development policies and priority areas for future trilateral cooperation. Moreover, both sides recognized that synergy on development cooperation policies helps to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that benefit all involved. Thie meeting was acknowledged as a testament to the strong cooperation and positive relations between TICA and USAID/RDMA. 

In this regard, Director-General of TICA reaffirmed TICA’s commitment to working closely with USAID/RDMA in order to achieve common goal of creating sustainable future for Thailand and wider region. The Director-General also expressed commendation TICA and USAID/RDMA staffs for always driving the successful cooperation.
