On November 30, 2022, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency delivered the opening remarks at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop: Strengthening Policies, Processes and Data system for Effective Development Cooperation. The Workshop was held at Eastin Grand Sathorn Hotel Bangkok. Mr. Navid Hanif, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development, UNDESA, Mr. Christophe Bahuet, UNDP Deputy Regional Director Asia and the Pacific; and Director, Bangkok Regional Hub, Mr. Henry Asor, IATI Governing Board Chair, Nigeria also delivered their remarks.

In her remarks, Mrs. Ureerat welcomed all participants from around the region and wished them a successful workshop. She emphasised that the effective use of development related data is highly important for scaling up cooperation and partnerships in both quality and quantity to help accelerate the post COVID-19 recovery process and the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She also reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through promoting South –South and Triangular Cooperation.
