On 2 May 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended a luncheon hosted by Ms. Youngsuk Jun, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), at Centara Grand @ Central Plaza Ladprao,. Ms. Youngsuk recently assumed her duty in Thailand. Also invited was Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA.

Both sides exchanged experiences in Thailand’s and South Korea’s development cooperation in different regions, including Mekhong Sub-region. They also discussed the future direction of collaboration, which includes the dispatch of Korean experts and volunteers under the “World Friends Korea” Programme and the drafting of the 4th Action Plan between KOICA and TICA on Joint Cooperation. Both sides agreed to forge a comprehensive cooperation, bilaterally and trilaterally, in areas of mutual interest and priority such as Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), and human resource development (HRD). Moreover, The Director-General of TICA reiterated Thailand’s readiness to play an active role in its partnerships for development cooperation with South Korea and other development partners to achieve sustainable development.
