On 27 April 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareonthoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and Mr. William Tan, Director-General of Technical Cooperation Directorate (TCD), co-chaired the 10th Technical Cooperation Meeting between TICA and TCD, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore. Also in attendance were Miss Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and Ms. Patchara Kosinanont, Director of Human Resources Development Division.

The Meeting reviewed the implementation of the 9th Technical Cooperation Meeting outcomes and charted the course for cooperation in the years 2023-2024. The initiative aims at enhancing human capacity development to support national development and narrow economic and social development gaps in targeted countries.

This development cooperation framework serves as an important mechanism that contributes to the strengthening of bilateral relations between Thailand and Singapore and the sharing of experience and expertise with other ASEAN member countries. It also promotes economic integration in ASEAN and Thailand’s role in the Initiative for ASEAN integration (IAI). By assisting CLMV countries and Timor-Leste in their journey towards sustainable development, this cooperative framework also enhances Thailand’s and Singapore’s role in advancing UN SDG 17: Partnerships for Goals. For 2023/2024 Work Plan, both sides agreed to co-organise the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) on TVET, Law and SMEs, Anti Human Trafficking, and Climate Change in Thailand and Singapore. Both sides will also explore a possibility to conduct a TCTP for other regions such as South Asia.
Thailand will host the 11th Technical Cooperation Meeting between TICA and TCD in 2024.
