On 8 February 2022, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), met with Ms. Deepali Khanna, Managing Director, Asia Regional Office, The Rockefeller Foundation. Mr. Cheevindh Nathalang, Deputy Director-General, was also present at the meeting.
The Rockefeller Foundation (RF) and Thailand through Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) have long-standing cooperation for decades. The Director-General appreciated RF’s contributions to various development sectors in Thailand, especially in the fields of medicine and public health. Ms. Khanna of RF expressed sincere thanks for TICA’s support and facilitation accorded to RF’s Asia Regional Office in Thailand, the first and only Regional Office in Asia.
Both sides exchanged views on existing development cooperation in the areas of public health, urban development, and agriculture and food innovation. In addition, TICA and RF also explored opportunities for future cooperation, including 4 key priority areas (Food Security, Job Security, Health Security, and Energy and Environment Security), as well as the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model. Possible activities could be in the forms of training, knowledge and experience-sharing, and capacity building for TICA’s data system.
