On 19 December 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed Ms. Amini Kanjunju, Country Director of the Peace Corps Thailand, and relevant officials from both sides were also present at the meeting, at TICA.

Both sides also discussed the Peace Corps’ contributions to youth and community development in Thailand, including the new group of Peace Corps Volunteers (Group 137), who will begin their assignments under the Youth in Development Project (YinD) and the Teacher Empowerment for Student Success (TESS) programme in 2026. Moreover, the two sides also exchanged the experiences and views on volunteer management to further develop TICA’s Friends from Thailand (FFT) Volunteer Programme. In addition, the Peace Corps aims to expand its global volunteer force to 8,000 volunteers by 2030.

In addition, Mr. Chulavat expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support gained from the Peace Corps Thailand in recent years, including the deployment of Peace Corps volunteers as guest speakers to share experiences and insights on the roles and responsibilities of international volunteers. These efforts have helped inspire children, youth, and the general public to engage in volunteerism through TICA’s events such as the 10th TICA Connect and TICA outreach activities.
