On April 23, 2025, Mrs. Chachsaran Lertkiattiwong, Director of the International Development Cooperation Division, represented the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and delivered remarks at the academic seminar titled “From Local to Global: Thailand’s Sustainability and EcoTourism Journeys.” The event was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Doha as an official side event of the Earthna Summit 2025, Qatar’s largest international conference on sustainable development. The seminar brought together representatives from Qatari government agencies, the private sector, environmental scholars and researchers, as well as NGOs from various countries.
Mrs. Chachsaran introduced TICA’s role as Thailand’s key agency in promoting international development cooperation. She emphasized the implementation of cooperation projects, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of best practices—particularly in the areas of environmental sustainability and tourism, two sectors that can be developed side by side.
Additionally, TICA presented an exhibition showcasing Thailand’s experience and initiatives in advancing development cooperation to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This participation served as a valuable opportunity for TICA to highlight Thailand’s contributions on the international stage and reinforce its global role. It also helped pave the way for enhanced collaboration between TICA and development partners in the Middle East, especially Qatar, in areas of mutual interest such as environmental conservation and biodiversity protection.
