Minister attached to TICA, delivered closing remarks at the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) on “Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries”

On 13 February 2025, Lieutenant Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and Ms. Hagiwara Makiko, Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Thailand Office precied over the closing ceremony and presented certificate to the participants of the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) on Rice Production Technologies for Food Security and Sustainability of African Countries under the Project of Coalition for African Rice Development (CARD) at the National Agricultural Extension and Training Center (NAETC), Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus. On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Krit Won-in, Vice President for Innovation and Social Missions, Kasetsart University and Dr. Kanyarat Chiewvech, Director of Extension and Training Office, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus also presented and delivered the closing remarks.

This course was organized by Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and NAETC, Kasetsart University. It was conducted from 8 January to 14 February 2025 and was successfully attended by 15 participants from Ghana, Gambia, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Uganda.

Lieutenant Sorawud extended his congratulations to the participants and expressed his appreciation to JICA and NAETC for jointly organizing this course. He highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge and Thailand's best practices in agriculture, especially in rice production, hoping that the participants would apply their acquired knowledge to foster collaborations and develop sustainable and resilient agriculture security of Africa.

Additionally, Mr. Simon Alibu, a Ugandan participant, as a representative of the participants, conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to all parties involved in organizing this course. He also reaffirmed the participants’ commitment to utilizing the knowledge gained throughout the training to bring about positive change in their respective countries.
