On 20 - 24 October 2025, TICA and NFI jointly conducted an in-depth consultation program for four Myanmar SMEs in the food sector, namely (1) Saw Nay La, (2) K-farm, (3) Green Gold BB, Bamboo, and (4) Eilakyar Food Manufacturing, with the participation of representatives from the Small Scale Industries Department (SSID), Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development of Myanmar. The activity aimed to support and enhance the capacity of small food business operators by improving their knowledge in food technology, food production control, product development, and quality assurance. It also sought to strengthen their skills in food business management, creativity, and market competitiveness, as well as to promote the production of high-quality food products that meet international standards for potential export.
The program featured four main components: (1) Market surveys at wholesale vegetable and fruit markets, supermarkets, and local markets. (2) Training on food technology, thermal sterilization processes in food production, product quality control, and Halal product development. (3) Study visits to Makro Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a food manufacturer producing canned foods, sauces, and dipping sauces. and (4) Hands-on workshops on the development of fruit syrup products and food business management skills.
In addition, the Thai delegation and four Myanmar food enterprises had an opportunity to further discuss the implementation of the aforementioned project with H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar as well.
