On 20 - 25 October 2025, the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, supported the Tea and Coffee Institute of Mae Fah Luang University, to organize a knowledge-exchange program on integrating agrotourism and coffee in Thailand. The event took place in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai as part of the “Training on the Sustainability of Arabica Coffee Production in Thailand” project, under the 2025–2027 framework of the Thailand–Colombia Bilateral Technical Cooperation Plan.

The program featured three main components: (1) the Thailand–Colombia Seminar on Coffee Production and Sustainability; (2) workshops; and (3) field visits to coffee farms and related industries. The activities aimed to promote the exchange of knowledge, technologies, and innovations among experts, entrepreneurs, and farmers from both countries, to build and expand collaborative networks, and to identify sustainable solutions to shared challenges in the coffee industry.

The above-mentioned activity received highly positive feedback from diverse stakeholders — including farmers, local communities, the private sector, civil society, universities, and government agencies. It fostered meaningful dialogue and the sharing of experiences and best practices, as well as the introduction of new technologies and innovations that can further develop and add value to the coffee and agrotourism value chains of Thailand and Colombia. This collaboration exemplifies the strong partnership between Thailand and Colombia in promoting sustainable development and advancing the mutual benefits of both nations.
