On the 18th of May 2566, at 15:00 hrs, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, the Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) welcomed Mr. Ardasher Qodiri, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Thailand (resident in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) to discuss development cooperation between Thailand and Tajikistan. Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, the Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and officers from the Tajikistan Embassy and TICA were also in attendance.
The Ambassador praised the key role of Thailand and the effort of the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow in strengthening the close relations between Thailand and Tajikistan along with other countries in Central Asian region. He expressed the interests to enhance development cooperation with TICA, particularly in sharing good practices by Thai experts in the areas currently responding to Tajikistan’s capacity building needs such as hotel management for the tourism services sector and feasibility studies for government’s projects.
The Director-General welcomed the opportunity for mutually cooperation in various areas. She also encouraged Tajikistan to apply TICA’s annual fellowships for the Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP) and the Annual International Training Course (AITC). Furthermore, she proposed trilateral cooperation with TICA’s current development partners such as Turkey. At this occasion, the Ambassador invited the Director-General to visit Tajikistan.
