On January 19, 2025, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General and Acting Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), delivered the opening remarks at the virtual opening ceremony of the Field Trip and International Workshop on Inclusive Education, along with Assoc Prof. Dr. Chatree Maneekosol, Acting President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU). On this occasion, Assoc Prof. Dr. Watcharapong Wattanakul, former Vice President and Asst. Prof. Yiamluck Udakarn, Dean of the Faculty of Education, attended this ceremony as well.
The above-mentioned activities took place at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, from 18 – 29 January 2025. There were 47 participants attended the activities comprising Myanmar administrative officials, school principals, and teachers from 15 schools in Yangon, Myanmar.
The Inclusive Education Training to Benefit for Special Needs Children (Children with Disabilities), implemented by CMRU, is an education projects under Thailand – Myanmar three-year development cooperation work plan aiming at providing specialized workshops for teachers and school administrators, focusing on inclusive education management and teaching strategies for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to ensure that students with disabilities receive tailored resources and individualized support to reach their full potential in an inclusive classroom environment. Furthermore, the project seeks to establish model schools within the Yangon region that showcase of best practices in inclusive education, serving as benchmarks for other schools in the region.
