On 17 November 2025, Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), joined Mr. Shunsuke SAKUDO, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Thailand Office, and Miss Suwara Thawitchasri, Governor of Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA), to preside over the opening ceremony of the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) on “Practice in Innovation and Digital Technology for Sustainable Water Management (Batch 2)” and delivered opening remarks to welcome 20 participants from Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, and Thailand.

On this occasion, all participants observed a minute of silence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother. During his remarks, Lt. Sorawud expressed his deep appreciation for Her Majesty's benevolence and tireless efforts in conserving Thailand’s water sources and forests to ensure their long-term sustainability. These contributions continue to provide a strong foundation for the ongoing development of water resource management.

Lt. Sorawud also conveyed his gratitude to JICA and MWA for their partnership in organizing the course, which aims to share knowledge and practical experiences in technology and innovation for water resource management, strengthen participants’ capacity to tackle emerging challenges, and promote sustainable water management across the region.
