On 10 May 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to Lao PDR, visited the Agricultural Development and Service Centre Houay Xone - Houay Xouy in Lao PDR to follow up on the progress of the project of the Improvement of Farmers’ Livelihood in Nasaithong and Sengthong District, Vientiane Capital, Laos through Enhancing Agriculture Productivity, together with Mr. Pawat Navamaratna Deputy Secretary-General of the Royal Development Projects Board, and Mr. Sisaward Homdala Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos.

 

The site visit is one of the activities under the project following the training programmes on theories on raising livestock and fishery that were carried out on September 2022, as well as the recent training course on integrated farming on 1-3 May 2023 at Puparn Royal Development Study Centre in Sakon Nakhon province. On this occasion, the Director-General of TICA also presided over the handover ceremony of agricultural equipment, materials, and livestock for the participating farmers. To this end, the farmers with high potential will be selected to showcase their success, and build a learning centre in their respective communities.
